Alameda County

  • Alta Bates (Website), locations in Oakland and Berkeley. They have something called charity care, with uninsured patient discounts. They also have Medi-Cal application help, charity care. Call for financial screening.
  • Concentra (Website) (Oakland, San Leandro) Depends on service. Seems to be more reasonable than Access health, at least going by TB. Also a $10 off coupon from their website. (Also takes insurance!) Appointments only it looks like, with more information about what to bring.

  • Direct Urgent Care (Website (Berkeley) Starts at 150. NO Medi-Cal, although accepts Medi-Care. Complete fee schedule. No bloodwork or ultrasound. Can set up an appointment online or over the phone at 510-686-3621. Located at 3095 Telegraph Ave., Berkeley, CA.
  • Highland Hospital Same Day Clinic (Website). Call at 6 am Monday-Saturday or at 8am Sunday to schedule an appointment. If you don't have insurance, there will be financial counselors. Accepts most of the governmental insurances.
  • Highland Hospital Emergency Room (Website). Drop in 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You dont need to show ID or documents to get treatment. If you don't have insurance, there will be financial counselors. Services are available for all!
  • Lifelong Urgent Care - Berkeley (Website). (510) 204.7979, 2001 Dwight Way. 6 days a week Monday – Friday: 12:00pm – 6:00pm, Saturday: 10:00am - 6:00pm, Sunday: Closed, Holidays: 9:00am – 5:00pm.
  • O'Brien After-Hour Urgent Care (Website), 20100 Lake Chabot Rd, Castro Valley, CA 94546 Phone: 510-914-0854 . Mon-Fri 6-9pm, Sat-Sun 2-6pm $115/ flat rate for full appointment, $60 for follow up care. $60 Flat rate for positive PPD Xray. Cash or Credit Card. No Insurance.
  • Sutter Urgent Care (Website) (Antioch, Berkeley, Castro Valley). Open at night and over the weekend, takes a ton of different insurance plans, including Medi-Cal (but not the new Alameda Alliance or Blue Shield Medi-Cal). Cash and credit as well, but I doubt low-fee/sliding-scale. Number to call is 925-756-3499 for Antioch location, 510-247-6300 for Castro Valley. Berkeley, 510-204-5514. Monday-Friday: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Walk-in and appointments are both cool, takes lots of different types of insurance as well! Contra Costa County

  • Lifelong Urgent Care - San Pablo (Website). (510) 231-9800, 2023 Vale Road, San Pablo, CA 94806. 7 days a week from 12 pm - 8 pm. Takes insurance, private and Medi-Cal/Medicare, and also will see people without insurance, but only Contra Costa residents. So if Alameda resident without health insurance, they may not see you. Wait time is dependent on seriousness of concern.

San Francisco County

  • St. Anthony Free Clinic (Direct website) (Other Website).150 Golden Gate Ave., 2nd floor (cross st. Jones Street), (415) 241-8320. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:00am to 12:00pm, 1:00pm - 5:00pm, Wednesday: 8:00am to 12:00pm. Offers free drop-in care on a triage basis, with a line forming thirty minutes prior to opening. Free. Services include urgent care, primary care, immunizations, etc.
