  • Hawthorne Elementary School-Based Health Center, La Clinica. 1700 28th Ave., Oakland, 510-535-6440. Office hours, M-F 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, call for clinic service hours. For students of certain schools, and children from wider Fruitvale community. FREE.
  • Brighter Beginnings Family Health Clinic, Richmond. 2727 MacDonald Ave, Richmond, CA 94804. 510-213-6678. Appointment-taking process is different for adults and children. Sliding Scale; any additional cost incurred for laboratory, radiology, or medication service are the responsibility of the patient. Walk ins and same day appointments accepted as schedule permits.
  • Clinica Alta Vista--part of La Clinica. Comprehensive medical care for adolescents and young adults. Services include family planning, emergency contraception, STI prevention and treatment, prenatal care, urgent and chronic care.   • Tiger Medics Youth Services. This clinic provides comprehensive care to students and recent graduates of Fremont High School.
  • Suitcase Youth Clinic. FREE services: Hygeine, Food, Acupuncture & Chiropractic, Optometry, Basic counseling, foot care, and legal. Monday nights from 6-9pm at the St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 2300 Bancroft Way at Ellsworth St.
  • Highland Hospital Department of Pediatrics. Financial counselors on site. Highland Campus, K Building, 6th Floor. M-F 8:30am-5pm Sat 8:30am-12pm. Walk-ins accepted. 510-437-4887.

Shelter/Transitional Housing

  • A Safe Place. Services for survivors of domestic violence. Services include 24 hour crisis line (510-536-7233), emergency transportation to shelters or other places of safety, professional counseling, re-entry service, medical and law enforcement response, and emergency food and clothing.
