East Bay Community Law Center


EBCLC offers free legal services in five program areas:
- Housing
- Health & Welfare
- Immigration
- Education, Defense & Justice for Youth (EDJY), including Youth Defense and Education Advocacy
- Economic Security & Opportunity (ESO), including Consumer Justice, Clean Slate Re-entry, and Community Economic Justice

Information and referrals are provided in all areas of law.

Main Office is at 1950 University Avenue, Berkeley, CA (Youth Services, plus Consumer Justice, Clean Slate Re-entry, and Community Economic Justice)
Satellite Office is at 2921 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA (Housing, Immigration, Health & Welfare)

Hours of Operation

Main Office = Monday - Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

Languages Available

ADA Accessible. High sensitivity to issues like income, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status, etc.
Spanish and English available on staff.

*Car related issues (tickets, tows, repos, fraudulent car sales/mechanics)
*Drivers license suspensions
*Citation defense- represents homeless people for infraction citations - loitering etc.

Not Offered
Not currently assisting people with issues around drinking/smoking in public.


All services are free for low income people: maximum monthly income $2,600 (roughly 50% of area median income)
