Emergency Shelter Services

The Rescue Mission offers a number of emergency shelter beds on a first-come, first-serve basis. If a client is in Richmond, they can go to the Mission directly. If they are not in Richmond, calling the Berkeley Shelter Bed Hotline (1-866-960-2132) might be a better idea. The Mission also has a certain number of beds reserved for women. Call the above number to check on shelter availability for women specifically.

Chapel and Dinner

Free meal around 7pm. Client must arrive by 7 and must participate in chapel services to get a meal.

Discipleship Program

The discipleship program offers men, women, and children a residential program to get back on their feet, so to speak. The program offers: skills to break substance use dependence; job skills training and vocational classes; education and GED certification with a local community college; counseling and spiritual guidance; computer training; biblical training; life management skills; household management skills; job placement.

Graduates of the discipleship program are offered 12 month transitional housing.

Mobile Outreach

Rescue Mission staff and volunteers delivery food, water, hygiene kits, warm clothing, blankets, and other materials to homeless people around the Richmond area.
